Her academic research encompasses the surveillance of emerging and re-emerging microbial pathogens, the study of antimicrobial resistance, and the exploration of drug discovery through microbial-based therapies, particularly the applications of bacteriophages and probiotics in combating bacterial infections in both humans and animals.
She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Nnamdi Azikiwe University and Medical Laboratory Science training at Lagos University Teaching Hospital. Subsequently, she obtained her Master’s and PhD degrees from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. Currently, she serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Microbiology and Biotechnology at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Lagos, Nigeria.
