Personal Statement
I had my early career in the Drug Research and Production Unit of the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Ife. I then moved into the Pharmaceutical industry (Pharma Deko PLC) as a research and development manager over a 9-year career, I led the Research and Development team to develop a wide range of pharmaceutical formulations and was appointed Executive Director (Technical Operations).
After my early retirement from the corporate world, I joined the Faculty of Pharmacy University of Lagos as a Lecturer 1, took a PhD in Clinical Pharmacy. My area of specialization is optimization of medication therapy and rose to the position of Professor of Clinical Pharmacy. My research focus is currently on antimicrobial stewardship and.
I have mentored and supervised six PHDs, 40 MSc students and over 60 undergraduates. I have over 50 peer-reviewed publications. As a visiting professor, I played a pivotal role in establishing the Faculty of Pharmacy in Federal University, Oye Ekiti. My goal is to mentor younger academics and improve clinical pharmacy practice for better therapy outcomes.
